The Cho Sewing Machine Company was founded by Yuzaburo Cho for the repair and sale of
Special Industrial Sewing Machines in Senju, Adachi-ku, Tokyo.Yuzaburo's family and his staff.
1946
The sewing machine for repairing jute bags, model "DD-1" was manufactured.It was a hot seller.
1948
The sewing machine for bag making, model "DN-1" was manufactured.

The Cho Sewing Machine Company was moved to Aoto, Katsushika-ku, Tokyo, and mass produced
sewing machines.
1956
Newlong Industrial Co., Ltd. became responsible for all manufacturing, and the Cho Sewing
Machine Company for all sales.
The name of NEWLONG INDUSTRIAL came from the name style "Cho" (It means "LONG" in English). Also, Mr. Yuzaburo Cho had the desire to run through a NEW era, so he named the manufacturing company "NEWLONG INDUSTRIAL".
1961
Established the Fujioka Factory in Fujioka, Tochigi-ken, and started manufacturing
industrial sewing machines.
1964
Cho Sewing Machine Company, responsible for sales, changed it’s name to Newlong Machine
Works, Ltd.
1966
Established NEWLONG MACHINE PHILIPPINES, INC. in the Philippines as a joint venture with
local capital.
1968
Built a new office and plant building at the Aoto Factory site, Katsushika-ku, Tokyo.
Established the Nagano Factory for the production of industrial sewing machine parts in
Nagano city.
1971
30th Anniversary Ceremony. A company song composed by Mr. Ichiro Fujiyama.
1974
Established the Odate Factory in Odate, Akita
1976
Established TAIWAN NEWLONG MACHINE WORKS, LTD..
They manufactured sewing machines, conveyors and automatic bagging machines.
1980
Increased export of bag making machines to overseas.
Developed bag sewing machine with conveyor.
1959
Manufactured bag mouth sewing machine model "DS-1" .
The first Japan made bag making machine model "M-1" was manufactured.
1960
Signed a technical license agreement of shopping bag making machines and flexographic
printing presses with Gartemann & Hofmann GmbH, German,.
The first Japan made SOS bag making machine model "EX-II".This machine was sold about 240 units for 20 years.
1963
Portable bag closing machine model "P-3". A Japanese sales staff brought it from Japan to Germany to sell.
1965
Completion of multi-wall paper bag making machine (tuber) model "12M".
Completion of automatic bagging machine model "2CM".
Completion of "5B series". This is the first Japan made bottomer (a bag making machine
designed to make both-end pasted bags with a valve from the tubes made by the tuber).
1969
Completion of bottomer "6B series".
Automatic bagging machine model "3CM" made a debut.
1970
Completion of bottomer model "7B ". This machine produced bags with string for rice.

Completion of rotary type high-speed automatic bagging machine model "6CM".

Model 3CM-T was automatic bagging machine which had a PP bag making machine.

Completion of SOS bag making machine with handle model "127T".

Completion of flat bag making machine model "638T".

NLI Koide factory established in Koide-machi, Niigata.
NLI Kitakata factory established in Kitakata, Fukushima.

Newlong Industrial Co., Ltd. Became a direct sales organization.
2004
Established KONLI (Kochsiek and NLI Gmbh), within the site of Fischer & Krecke in Bielefeld
GERMANY.
Business is being expanded not only at domestic sales bases but also at sales and
manufacturing bases overseas.
1995
Fully automatic bagging machine with automatic rope tying mechanism model "3CM-5X" made a
debut.It was manufactured totaled 150 units.
1996
Low-dust automatic bagging machine model "3CM-FG" made a debut. It was manufactured totaled
130 units.
The improved machine "FG series" was completed in 2004.
1998
Model 7CM-TS was high-speed automatic bagging machine which had a PP bag making machine. It
was manufactured totaled 70 units.
The improved machine "EFS series" was completed in 2004.
2003
High-speed bag closing machine model "DS-11" made a debut.
It has been manufactured more than 1,100 units so far. Mega hit sewing machine.
